The Mount Pleasant Community Development Corporation (MPCDC) has been highly successful in shaping the minds and attitudes of students in Northern Virginia since 2009. Since its inception, MPCDC has worked in partnership with Mount Pleasant Baptist Church.
The Weekend Enrichment Academy is a program within MPCDC serving students in grades 1 through 12 from Loudoun, Fairfax, and Prince William counties. The program is designed to help close the academic achievement gap by strengthening reading comprehension and math computation skills while fostering a positive cultural perspective.
The Weekend Enrichment Academy will operate on the Mount Pleasant Baptist Church campus on Saturdays from 8:30 AM to 11:30 AM, except when notifications of special events are provided.
The program is designed to be staffed by experienced administrators and certified educators in their respective areas of expertise. Instruction will be delivered using a nationally recognized reading and math curriculum aligned with Virginia academic standards and will include SAT preparation for eligible students.
Educator Opportunities
MPCDC is currently recruiting certified educators and instructional support staff to support the Weekend Enrichment Academy during the Spring 2026 pilot semester. Educators will support small-group instruction, academic enrichment, and culturally responsive learning.
Educators interested in serving should contact Dr. Darla Sligh at 703-200-1351 or email Enrichment@mpleasantcdc.org.
